Earlier this week, Jilin City officials announced their intent to establish a new energy vehicle industrial park in the city. Guangdong officials have also mentioned plans to encourage greater new energy vehicle use in the province, with their stated goal to increase the number of new energy vehicles to 50,000.
Chinese manufacturers have managed to sell a total of 6,982 new energy automobiles over the first nine months of the year, with 3,009 of those purchases being of pure electric vehicles.
