It will invest RMB 1.6 billion in a new facility in the eastern port city of Qingdao to produce diesel fuel injectors and other products.
It will establish Bosch's second manufacturing site of diesel technologies in China and marks another milestone of Bosch's continuous investment in China. Bosch Automotive Diesel Systems Co., Ltd. is a joint venture with Wuxi Weifu High-Technology Group Co., Ltd. with a 67% shareholding from Bosch.
According to the MOU which was signed, the total investment of the second manufacturing site will be around CNY 1.6 billion, which will be implemented in two-phase constructions with 800 million CNY each. Located in Qingdao National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone, the manufacturing site will cover an area of 110,000 square meters. Its main product diesel fuel injectors can accurately control the quantity of fuel injection and thus help to save energy and reduce emissions for vehicles.
The second manufacturing base in Qingdao will substantially expand its diesel technologies' production capacity in China and support the country's sustainable development by providing cutting-edge technologies for both energy-saving and emission reduction.
The demand for energy-saving and eco-friendly auto diesel technology will rise rapidly as China adopts a national IV emission standard by the middle of 2013, the company said.
