Jianghuai Automobile sold a total of 42,300 vehicles in November, Caijing reported today. The figure represents year-on-year growth of 27.91 percent and is the highest record the manufacturer attained this year. Over the same period of time, JAC manufactured 42,200 vehicles, 19.98 percent more than in last November.
JAC has manufactured and sold respective totals of 403,741 and 411,012 vehicles from January to November. From March onwards, the manufacturer's sales started to slip. It was only until September that JAC managed to reverse this trend, when its sales grew over 15 percent. Ever since then the manufacturer's sales have continued to grow. Aside from its minivan line, JAC's other series of vehicles have all experienced positive year-on-year sales growth.
Aside from sedans, commercial vehicles sales are a major source of earnings for JAC, and one of the key reasons it performed so poorly in the middle of the year. The manufacturer reported selling a total of 16,800 trucks in November, 13.93 percent more than it sold a year ago. "We have further stabilized our hold on the commercial vehicle market," JAC Chairman An Jin remarked. However, he pointed out that the manufacturer's SUV sales have failed to live to expectations.
JAC's stock price rose 2.69 percent on Monday, finishing at 5.72 yuan ($0.9106).
