www.chinabuses.org: The Canadian manufacturer of railway and tramway rolling stock Bombardier is planning to enter the electric bus (ebus) market with the launch of two commercial trials. The move is part of a strategy being developed by 'Primove', a new business unit at the company that has created advanced wireless charging technology for large EVs.
After extensive and fully independent assessments, the TÜV SÜD homologated the Primove equipped Rampini e-bus in Mannheim for operation on public roads. This achievement confirms that the Primove engineering team found the right solutions when optimizing the onboard and wayside components; and it will allow GE to go forward with the implementation of the first Primove e-bus projects for passenger service in Europe at full speed.
At the same time, the TÜV Süd confirmed that the Primove system complies with all regulations and requirements regarding electromagnetic field emissions (EMF) and compatibility (EMC). When operated according to Primove operational instructions, the safety of the Primove system at Bombardier’s Mannheim site was also approved by the TÜV Süd.
