Qiu Qi, general manager of ZF Shanghai, Salvaohh, the company’s general production manager, Freiermuth, president of ZF Shanghai’s Yantai factory, Gu Qinliang, vice president of ZF Shanghai, and many local government executives attended the off-line ceremony.
ZF Shanghai Steering Systems (Yantai) Co., Ltd. is set up by Bosh, ZF and SAIC with total investment of ¥2.4 billion ($385 million). The joint venture company mainly produces automotive steering systems and supplies its products to automakers including Shanghai-GM, BMW-Brilliance, FAW-Volkswagen and Beijing-Benz.
The factory in Fushang, Yantai covers a land of about 67,000 square meters, with a building area of 65,000 square meters. Construction of the first phase began in September 2010 and the second phase completed in August 2012. When everything is in place after the third phase in 2014, the JV’s annual output value is expected to exceed ¥4 billion with profit and tax of over ¥1 billion.
