120 Pure Electric City Buses to Run in Shanghai

www.chinabuses.org: It is reported by Evening News that 120 pure electric city buses are going to serve Shanghai since next month, and the buses have been serving Shanghai Expo in 2010, and they are going to run on bus line 23, 939, and 36, and bus line 23 and 939 will be bus lines which only occupy by pure electric buses in Shanghai. In fact, the actural operation journeys of the pure electric city buses will be shorter than diesel engine buses so that the total volumes of the pure electric city buses will be 30% more than rated volumes.
Our journalist witnessed that there are dozens of pure electric city buses standing by China pavilion of Shanghai Expo, and the rated journey will be shorter than this.
Pure electric city bus can run for 70-80km after recharging, and the battery sets will be wear down and the the bus can just run for 60-65km after two or three years.
The service life for the pure electric buses are also eight years which is the same as high-end diesel engine city buses, but they need to change battery for four or five years, and the costs for one set battry are about 110,000 Yuan.
