It is learned that the total investment of the Ankai new-energy vehicle base is RMB 1.5 billion and the new base covers 374 mu (about 0.25 million m2), including 20,000 m2 of technical R&D center. The project will construct the new-energy bus production lines, key powertrain, R&D center will be built in the new base. The new project marked the rapid development of new-energy vehicle industry in Anhui Province.

After the completion, annual productivity is expected to be six thousand new-energy completed buses, 12,000 key powertrain of buses and 150,000 powertrain of new-energy vehicles, with output value of RMB 8.1 billion, making the most important new-energy vehicle production base and R&D center.
According to Cheng Xiaoping, the vice-general manager of Ankai Bus, it is known that the first stage construction of the new energy base will put into production at the end of 2013 and the second stage construction will be finished in the first half year of 2014. The new base mainly produces pure electric buses and hybrid buses as well as the drive motor and other new energy components. Ankai Bus will continue to work with the battery suppliers on improving the better performance of the new energy buses.
Until 2012, there are 1,137 units of Ankaui new energy buses on trial operation in Beijing, Shanghai, Hefei, Dalian etc. 27 cities
Ankai Bus has been developing and researching on new energy buses since 2003. In this year, the sales volumes of Ankai pure electric buses are nearly 1,000 units. The buses are now running in 23 cities in China, keeping the largest market share of national electrical buses.
