Xi'ning to Replace 600 City Buses in 2013

city bus bidding has started on March 19, 2013, and this is the second year for the city to replace old city buses since 2012, and both BRT and rear enigne city buses will be introduced this year.
Xi'ning city government proposes to replace old city buses for two years, and over 1,000 city buses will be renewed.
Currently there are 1,648 city buses owned by Xi'ning Public Transport Company and 46 bus lines, and the annual passenger amounted to 300 million journeys.
407 new city buses were bought last year with total investment up to 100 million Yuan and this year they will invest 190 million Yuan to replace 622 new city buses.
Ten-meter front engine and rear engine city buses will be replaced this year, and the volumes are 536 units and 76 units. And the advantage of rear engine city buses lie that compact powertrain improves motility and the gross weights of the city buses are smaller so that low floor settings can be placed. And there is less vibration and noise for the seprated engine and cargo.
