www.chinabuses.org : Some changes have taken place in the bus stop of “Gaoxinqu Guanweihui”, LCD, LED displays are mounted, and so does a camera on the top.

Gaoxin district Bus Company introduced that, this bus stop is the first in the city to be equipped with above devices. In the coming years, dozens of more bus stops in the district will see the same changes happen.

Hefei Bus Company is also planning on installing 300 electronic displays, mainly in central city.

The electronic display, 3 meters high, 1.33 meters wide, is mounted on steel structures. “Because the display is very heavy, we dug a foundation 80 centimeters deep, besides, after the display is welded to the steel structure, we sealed it by cement. This way, the whole structure is strong and could stand against big winds,” said the worker on site.

The camera is placed at the top, followed by LCD display, LED display placed beneath it. “The 32’’ display is for business purposes, with a brighter screen. So, it is 8-10 times more expensive than home TV set,” said the worker. The LED display is rectangle with a width of 10 centimeters. It is used as a auxiliary display.

“Four kinds of information is displayed on the LCD displayer, namely videos, pictures, texts and bus information,” the staff told the reporter.

The camera could record for as long as 15 days. The video will be transfer to the special network of public transportation through internet.

A complicated billboard like this will take one month to manufacture. This week, it will be put into use, and hopefully, helps make buses more punctual.

A electronic display was set up on Heping road prior to this one, but, was abandoned for some reasons.

Technician introduced that they are working on a mobile app for public transportation. The app will be connected to the public transportation network.

Reporter noticed there is a hook on the top of the displayer, which, as the technician said, will be used to attach solar panels that powers the displayer.
