Natural gas vehicle is a clean fuel vehicle, the emission of which is much lower than gas vehicles. The tail gas excludes sulfur compound and reduces 80% carbon monoxide, 60% hydrocarbon and 70% oxynitride. Hence, many countries have taken NG vehicles as an important measure to mitigate air pollution.
Adjoining to Beijing, Chengde has direct influence on Beijing with respect to quality of environment. Over recent years, Chengde has been focusing on improving environment, not only for itself, but also for Beijing.
Huagang Gas Group takes Chengde as a key area to invest and develop LNG project. On June 17, Huagang Gas Group signs a framework agreement with Chengde government to undertake the development and operation of LNG and L-CNG gas stations. The project includes three phases with the first phase to build 3 LNG (L-CNG) gas stations, the second phase 6 LNG (including L-CNG) stations and one comprehensive station, and the third phase 1000 miles of medium-pressure network for gases.
It is learnt that Huagang Gas Group has built 3 LNG skid-mounted stations that provide gas filling service for more than 120 buses and heavy trucks. Another three fixed stations are under construction. The group plans to undertake 50 LGN gas stations in Chengde to serve 10,000 vehicles. Those stations could replace 395,000 tons gasoline and diesel oil, reduce toxic waste gas 27,600 tons, and decrease the fuel cost totaling 895 million RMB every year.
