Throughout the whole year, the company sold 132,300 units engines. In 2015, the company is ambitiously aiming at selling 176,000 units of engines.


Since its debut in the market in 2014, Foton-Cummins engines have been fully in line with Euro IV, China’s IV and Euro V Emission Standards. Through combining formidable strengths from two globally renowned brands, ISG engine platform can be upgraded to meet Euro VI Emission Standards. As a symbol of the deepened cooperation between Cummins and Foton, the new engine system for the first time put the specific needs of heavy truck operators as its top priority and thus represented a new generation of environmentally friendly heavy-duty driveline. According to sources, ISG engine platform sold 8,235 units in the latter half of 2014. 


According to its financial report for the fiscal year of 2013, Foton-Cummins, as a joint venture, realized profitability in 2012 for the first time. In the next year, it sold 101,200 units of engines, up by 34.43% year on year. Its sales went up continuously in the same year with the total sales revenue standing at 2.74 billion RMB for the whole year. Thanks to the technological superiority of Foton-Cummins, the related products from Foton also saw substantial growth in their sales volume, especially in the overseas markets in 2013. Based on the data above, Foton saw its sales volume up by 31% year on year in 2014. This year, the company is aiming at boosting its sales volume by 33% year on year.

 

Co-funded by the world’s leading engine maker Cummins and China’s top commercial vehicle manufacturer BAIC Foton Co., Ltd. with an equal share of 50:50, Foton-Cummins was officially set up in 2007. It is specialized in producing diesel engines for light-duty and heavy-duty trucks. Currently, it manufactures a wide spectrum of engine products, including Cummins ISF/QSF (Road/Non-road) series 2.8 liter, 3.8 liter diesel engines and ISG series 11 liter and 12 liter diesel engines.

 

As one of the world’s leading engine makers, Foton-Cummins boasts the state-of-art manufacturing facilities. Its ISF and ISG manufactories are equipped with top-notch engine production equipment in line with advanced technological standards and quality control standards. After its debut in 2009, the annual sales volume of ISF engine soared from 1,500 units to 124,000 units in 2014. The company’s new blockbuster ISG engine made its first appearance not long ago. As it has been actively promoted by the engine maker, the new product has already won wide-spread attention from the market. In latter half of 2014, the sales volume of ISG engines reached 8,235 units in the domestic market.

 

Currently, Foton-Cummins “Green Power System” has become the first choice for the mainstream light-duty truck producers. Russia-based GAZ, Brazil-based Volkswagon-Man, Benz and Ford, South-Korea-based Daewoo Bus, UK-based Paccar as well as JAC, Sinotruk, Chery from China are among the thousands of ISF engine users on their light-duty, medium-duty trucks as well as light buses.
