In Aug. 2014, in an effort to speed up the eco-transformation of the nation’s transportation system, boost the development of environmentally friendly industries and new energy vehicle industry, China’s Ministry of Finance, State Tax Administration and Ministry of Industry and Information jointly released an announcement, proclaiming that all electric vehicles, certain types of plug-in hybrid vehicles and battery vehicles (imported vehicles also included) are exempt from vehicle purchasing tax from Sept. 1, 2014 to the end of 2017.
A closer look at the data also shows that the number of electric buses which have been exempted from the tax has long exceeded the number of plug-in hybrid buses, indicating that electric buses have already held the lion’s share of the new energy bus market.
According to Wang Xinliang, Director of Higer Brand Marketing Dept., the bus maker has become the big winner in this new round of competition thanks to its constant heavy investment in promising field and its foresight to realize the huge market potential of the new energy vehicle industry.
