www.chinabuses.org: On May 4, Golden Dragon released its new model large X5 in Kunming, Yunnan. The new vehicle is expected to make a big splash in the middle-end and high-end commercial coach market.
Minibus X5 first appeared in the market in 1995, which fully demonstrates the state-of-art manufacturing technologies and continuous innovation spirit of the bus maker. For the past two decades, Minibus X5 series vehicles have been widely used in postal services, medical treatment, police service, and school transportation. Nowadays, Minibus X5 holds a dominant position in the domestic light bus market.
According to sources, Minibus X5 grew by nearly 40% in 2014, far higher than the industrial average growth rate. To better meet the huge market demand for Minibus X5 series vehicles, Golden Dragon rolls out large X5 just in time.
Measuring 5.38 meters in length and 1.88 meters in width, large X5 has a wider body structure. According to the bus maker, three other large X5 versions are now in the making and will soon hit the market, including the narrower one with 1.7 meters in width, the longer one with 5.9 meters in length and the shorter one with 4.8 meters in length. Currently, large X5 is equipped with 4RB2 or 3TZ drivelines, two classic power systems. The new versions of X5 series vehicles are expected to have more driveline systems available for customers.
Large X5 is coated with cathodic electric deposit primer made by U.S. based PPG Industrial Company. Its electro filter system is from U.S. Cook Company. The high quality spare parts and advanced whole body vehicle cathodic electro technologies ensure much longer life expectancy of large X5.
According to government’s new regulations, the newly purchased vehicles for government use or public services should be more environmentally friendly in the future. The percentage of vehicles for commercial use and logistic use should be no less than 30%. In response, the electric G6 will mainly focus on the governmental services, public services (like postal services, medical treatment and police services) and a few major state-owned enterprises which are involved in telecommunications, etc. So far, G6 electric bus has already won a combined order of 500 units, which will be delivered to their customers in August this year.
Golden Dragon is now fully confident of G6. While working on its continuous driving capacity and cutting its costs, the bus maker is determined to further upgrade the new vehicle’s reliability and its performance consistency so as to maintain its strong competitiveness in the cut-throat market.
