www.chinabuses.org: Since a batch of Yutong fuel-electric hybrid city buses were put into operation on No.28 and No.46 bus route in Kaifeng, Henan Province, local citizens have developed a strong preference for the environmentally friendly vehicles. To further promote new energy buses as well as to conserve energy and cut emissions, Kaifeng Municipal Government introduced 85 unitsfuel-electric hybrid buses and 40 units new energy buses on May 26. This is the second batch of new energy buses specially tailored by Yutong for Kaifeng public transport sector. Early this month, these buses have been officially put into operation on bus routes No. 13 and No. 16, providing more travel conveniences and comforts for local citizens.

Coated in green color, the buses send a message of “Green Lifestyle, Environmental Friendliness and Technological Innovation” to the public. Different from the new energy buses previously put into operation in the city, the new batch are all ZK6105CHEVPG21 fuel-electric hybrid buses. Measuring 10.5 meters in length, the vehicle has 28 seats and achieves internationally competitive energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.

Equipped with lithium batteries, ZK6105CHEVPG21 is able to drive continuously for over 200 km and it boasts high reliability under extreme weather conditions. To further improve its safety standards, the bus adopts sealed ring structure with high rigidity steel. In addition, its automatic fire extinguishing device mounted at the rear cabin uses heat-proof and combustion-resistant materials. The vehicle is getting smarter by connecting with the intelligent public transport dispatching system. Thus, it features GPS, automatic station broadcasting service, LED screen, and real-time monitoring, offering more convenience for local citizens.

Special considerations have also been made to those special passengers, such as the old, the weak, the ill, the physically challenged, and the pregnant. With low-floor access, anti-slippery floor and spacious aisle, the bus also has eye-catching safety signs to remind passengers to be more cautious while the vehicle is on the move.

As an ancient capital of China, Kaifeng receives thousands of tourists each year. The new energy buses are expected to become a new window for tourists to experience local culture. Plus, they are playing an essential role in encouraging more people to cut their carbon-footprint and go green in their lifestyle.
