Ankai Strengthens its Efforts in Developing New Energy Buses

www.chinabuses.org: In the first half of 2016, Ankai received a number of major orders from its customers, including 200 units new energy city buses for Xuzhou Public Transport, 160 units electric city buses for Weifang Public Transport, 162 units hybrid city buses for Huainan, several hundreds of electric city buses and electric coaches for Beijing. Orders for electric buses also came from Shanxi, Sichuan, Anhui, and Shaanxi. 


Beijing, the capital city of China, has long set a very high standard for buses which are qualified to enter the market. With huge market potentials, Ankai has always been attaching paramount significance to developing the capital market. So far, Ankai A8, A6 and G9 has already established sizable presence in Beijing. Specially, over 1,000 units Ankai electric A8 have been working smoothly in the capital.

Beijing Tianma Tongchi Auto Rental Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as Tianma Tongchi) has been one of the major customers of Ankai. In 2015, the company bought 400 units Ankai A8 electric buses. “Based on our good cooperative ties, we are very confident of Ankai new energy buses,”Ji Kaiping, president of Tianma Tongchi. According to Mr. Ji, Tianma Tongchi officially started operating Ankai electric buses in the winter of 2015. To combat the extreme cold weather, Ankai closely monitored the operation of its bus fleet. Apart from its customer-oriented services, the stable performances of Ankai buses have long won the heart of customers. At every terminal, some extra buses were prepared to deal with emergencies. A bus driver, with over 20 years driving experience, speaks highly of the agility and driver-friendliness of Ankai electric buses. “Though I was not quite used to the new vehicle, I soon found Ankai not only agile but very reliable,” says the driver.

As one of the pioneers in developing new energy buses, Ankai has been chiefly focusing on developing electric buses and extended range electric buses. It has also been making great efforts in researching hybrid buses and fuel-cell buses. Currently, Ankai boasts a wide spectrum of buses, including 6-12 meters electric city buses and electric travel coaches, 10-12 meters plug-in hybrid city buses. In addition, it has independently developed control systems, tri-phase AC asynchronous motors, controllers for electric motors, in-wheel motor bridge, CAN systems and battery management systems for electric buses. In addition, the bus maker has set up new energy vehicle power system laboratory, power battery laboratory, electric control system laboratory, whole vehicle R&D and performance laboratory, spare part performance laboratory. It has independently developed e-Control system for electric buses.

In 2015, Ankai new energy bus production base with an annual production volume of 6,000 units was put into production. Its vehicle electrophoresis workshop now boasts the highest coating production procedure in China. In February, 2016, China National Electric Bus System Integration Engineering & Technology Research Center was set up in Ankai and passed the evaluation of China’s Ministry of Science and Technology. The center is chiefly involved in developing control systems, electric motors, batteries and related management system. Apart from its hard efforts in technological innovation and hardware construction, Ankai also launched Ankai Customer Care, ushering a new era which takes the initiative to provide services for its customers. 


Thanks to its continuous efforts, Ankai is now reaping the rewards, breaking many records. In addition, Ankai new energy buses have made their way into over 50 cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hefei, etc.
