www.chinabuses.org: Since its establishment, Jiangxi Bonluck Bus Co., Ltd. (hereafter referred to as BLK) has been aiming at the high-end bus market abroad. Having successfully passed a number of stringent technical certifications, BLK has made its way to nearly 30 countries and regions across the world. Through constantly advancing bus manufacturing technologies and exploring the overseas market, BLK now boasts a solid customer pool abroad.
To date, a total number of 2,000 units BLK buses have been put into operation in Australia. In addition, 200 units BLK buses recently entered USA, serving NASA. Now, BLK is one of a few Chinese bus brands that can readily compete with Volvo and Mercedes Benz.

“In the beginning, we only sold our products to three countries. Now, our customers are from 28 countries and regions across the globe, most of which are developed countries”, says Li Han, Deputy General Manager of BLK.
The key to BLK’s business success abroad is the bus maker’s constant pursuit of technological ingenuity. Having a history of less than ten years, BLK boasts an annual production volume of 5,000 units large-sized buses & coaches. Having gotten DOT certificate from the USA, ADR certificate from Australia, and ECE certificate from EU, BLK has been chiefly involved in exporting its bus products to international market.

“In 2006 when BLK was established, China’s bus market was already dominated by a handful well-known brands. If we had chosen to enter the domestic market by rolling out low-end bus products and competing by lowering prices, it would have been a dead-end road for us. For this reason, we shifted our attention to the overseas market, especially the high-end bus market in the development countries”, reveals Li Han.
Located in Nanchang, BLK has technicians of different colors, who have been making enormous contributions to the commercial success of BLK. “When we first secured a deal with Australia for 50 units buses, we immediately hired ten technicians in the local place so that we can better serve our customers. Since our entry into Australian market, the high safety, high maneuverability, and high comfort level of our products have given great satisfaction to our customers”, says Ye Zhongfei, General Manager of BLK Australia.

BLK’s success in Australia has given its business a huge boost in the US and European markets. While attracting and cultivating a growing team of talented technicians, BLK is exporting its state-of-art bus manufacturing technologies and sending its technical team abroad. “Now, we have six technical teams stationed permanently in the overseas markets. Moreover, we send 50 technicians to Australia, the USA and Europe for technical exchange each year. In Southeast Asia and Central & South America, a number of BLK technicians are working hard to serve local bus markets”, says Li Han.
Currently, BLK boasts over 100 bus products in twelve series. It also owns 38 patented technologies, such as U-shaped beam design, embedded solar battery roof, and automatic horizontal hydraulic balancing systems. In bus designs, structural engineering design, and finite element analysis (FEA), BLK has been taking the lead in the global bus market.

China’s One Belt One Road Initiative has further strengthened BLK’s confidence in exploring overseas markets. In 2014, Bangkok Public Transport Company bought 500 units BLK buses in a one-time order.
While cultivating traditional fuel powered bus market, BLK is making huge efforts in developing clean and new energy buses. As early as 2008, BLK was entrusted by Australian government for developing and producing new energy buses. Currently, BLK secures deals for new energy buses each month. In the coming five to ten years, BLK will further integrate its production and market and set up a state-level bus technological research institute, aiming to further deepen technological exchanges with its overseas counterparts.
