From December 18 to 27, an exhibition was held to mark the 40th anniversary of China’s launch of reform and opening-up policy in Hefei, Anhui province. During the exhibition, a host of impressive achievements made by enterprises in Anhuai province were put on display.

Ankai brought its latest 8.5-meter fuel cell bus and whole vehicle controller, and electric motor on display, fully showcasing its technological strengths in China’s bus manufacturing industry.

Boasting a history of over 50 years, Ankai has witnessed the ups and downs in China’s reform and opening-up and has been committed to pushing forward the sound and sustainable development of China’s bus manufacturing industry.

In 1993, Ankai successfully developed China’s first unit monocoque luxury coach, ushering a brand new era for the whole industry in China. Since then, the bus maker has maintained a robust growing momentum. Having established China National Electric Bus System Integration Engineering Center and the state-level Research Platform for Post-doctoral Candidates, Ankai has already established an enviable capacity for researching and developing electric buses, plug-in hybrid buses and fuel cell buses. In terms of electric motors, electric motor controllers, whole vehicle controllers, CAN, and other key spare parts of new energy vehicles, Ankai has successfully established sound and well-coordinated R&D and production systems.

In recent years, to further strengthen its presence in the global market, it has made relentless efforts. Its buses have successfully made their way to a number of top-tier cities across the globe, including London, Paris, Dubai, Sydney, Washington D.C., Las Vagas, St. Petersberg, etc.

According to China’s Fuel Cell Vehicle Development Plan, the number of fuel cell vehicles in operation will reach 5,000 units, 50,000 units and 100,000 units in 2020, 2025 and 2030 respectively. In response, Ankai has successfully developed its third generation fuel cell buses. With a monocoque body structure, the vehicle boasts impressive power performances, high energy efficiency and more travel comforts for passengers, making it an ideal choice for green urban development in the 21st century.

In addition, Ankai has also made several technological breakthroughs in self-driving buses and put its self-driving buses in operation on roads. Currently, the bus maker is making an all-out effort to make its vehicles more intelligent and more environmentally friendly to suit the more demanding needs and requirements from customers across the globe.
