Recently, Xiamen-based Golden Dragon, one of the leading bus makers in China, successfully secured an order of 186 units 8.5-meter fuel cell buses with a total value of 368 million RMB from a customer in Foshan, Guangdong.
In early October, 2019, Nanhai District in Foshan revealed its plan on developing hydrogen fuel industry. According to the plan, the district is to increase the number of its fuel cell buses to 400 units in 2020, 800 units in 2025, 1,500 units in 2030.
Currently, Nanhai District boasts four hydrogen refilling stations and another eight are still under construction.
In 2010, Golden Dragon officially launched its fuel cell bus development programs. In 2016, it rolled out its first generation of fuel cell buses. In September, 2017, Golden Dragon 8-meter fuel cell bus gained government’s permit for commercial operation. Since then, the vehicle has been put into service in Xiamen and Xiamen. Currently, it boats a wide range of fuel cell buses measuring 8-, 10-, and 12-meter in length. After a refill of hydrogen in just 10 minutes, Golden Dragon’s new generation of fuel cell bus is able to drive over 500 km continuously.
