Despite a host of challenges this year, some major players in China delivered impressive performances in the first three quarters this year. Here below are some major sales highlights of Zhongtong, Higer, Golden Dragon, Ankai and BYD.
1) Zhongtong: in January this year, 690 units Zhongtong new N series electric buses officially started operation in Jinan. Since then, the city’s entire bus fleet has been powered by clean energy or new energy.
On February 13, Zhongtong delivered 141 units 12-meter city buses to Santo Domingo, the capital city of Dominica.
In mid-March, 100 units Zhongtong new N series 10-meter electric city buses equipped with U-LINK Intelligent Management System started operation in Heze, Shandong Province.
On April, 1, Zhongtong delivered 267 units new energy buses to Mianyang Public Transport Group.
2) Golden Dragon: In April, Golden Dragon secured an order of 100 units XML6885 electric buses with a total value of 76.99 million RMB from Fuzhou Kangchi New Bus Co., Ltd.
In mid-July, it delivered 153 units 8.8-meter Polestar electric city buses to Fuzhou Public Transport Group. On Sept. 7, 100 units 10.5-meter Golden Dragon hydrogen fuel cell city buses XML6105JFCEV embarked on their journey from Xiamen to Zibo, Shandong province.
3) Foton AUV: in late March, 153 units Foton AUV school buses BJ6116 & BJ6706 were delivered to Dongguan Guosheng School Bus Service Group.
On March, 31, Foton AUV officially announced that it would deliver 2,220 units electric or hybrid range-extending buses with a total contract value of 3.57 billion RMB to Beijing Public Transport Group.
On June 29, Foton AUV secured an order of 210 units new energy buses (145 units 10-meter electric buses and 65 units 7-meter electric buses) with a total value of 248,609,000 RMB from Beijing Public Transport Group. According to the bus maker, the order is a part of the bus operator’s purchase plan in 2022.
On July 26, 120 units Foton AUV city buses officially started service in Changping District under the operation of Beijing Wanjiatong Passenger Transportation Co., Ltd.
4) Higer: in mid-May, over 100 units Higer 12-meter city buses officially started operation in Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan.
In mid-August, 85 units Higer Azure electric city buses started operation in Zhongwei, Ningxia.
5) Ankai: in late April this year, 800 units 10.5-meter Ankai natural gas powered city buses embarked on their journey from Ningbo Port to Mexico, marking the biggest ever bus export from China to Mexico so far.
6) BYD: On Feb. 15, BYD delivered 29 units electric double-deckers to Abellio.
In late February, BYD delivered 172 units electric buses to Bogota, the capital city of Columbia.
According to BYD, Bogota made a purchase of BYD 1,002 units electric buses. Also in February, BYD announced that it would deliver over 130 units electric double-deckers to National Express in the UK. After their arrival in the country in 2023, they will be put into service in Coventry.
On July, 22, 60 units BYD K8S and 340 units BYD B10 electric city buses joined the bus fleet in Jinan.
