Previously, in the first "State-owned Enterprise Digital Scenario Innovation Professional Competition" hosted by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Golden Dragon's "Large-scale Personalized Rapid Customization of Buses" project won the first prize in the R&D and Design category, making it the only company in Fujian Province to receive this top honor. Personalized Orders: Buying a Bus as Convenient and Intelligent as Online Shopping
Currently, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Golden Dragon buses are traveling on various bus routes, meeting the travel needs of local residents.
In 2024, Golden Dragon secured the "first order" for the bulk export of Chinese buses to Vietnam. The order was confirmed in January 2024, and all 207 buses were delivered by March, which coincided with the longest Spring Festival holiday in history. Undoubtedly, this was a tough battle. "Thanks to the promotion of our Digital and Intelligent Factory for Personalized Bus Orders project, we successfully delivered this order to Vietnamese customers, laying a solid foundation for our future expansion in the Vietnamese market," said Huang Ji, Vice President of Golden Dragon International Trading Company.

Unlike the standardized and mass production consumption model, customized production, small batches, and personalization are the basic characteristics of bus manufacturing. A bus is assembled from more than 10,000 parts, so the difficulty of fulfilling personalized orders is self-evident. Especially for overseas market orders, the degree of personalization is high, with many special requirements. The traditional ordering process has issues such as lag and unclear communication between sales and technical design, which need to be addressed.
"In recent years, Golden Dragon has vigorously promoted its digital transformation, significantly shifting from a product-centric to a customer-centric approach and model. That is, whatever model and configuration customers want, the company can respond, design, and produce quickly," said Hu Daofa, Director of the Enterprise Management Information Department at Golden Dragon.
He specifically explained that Golden Dragon's digital collaborative marketing platform offers over 300 models, covering different countries, regions, climates, and environments. "For example, when customers in the European market place an order, the system provides corresponding models for selection, allowing customers to place orders intelligently. After selecting a model, customers can also personalize it with over 100 configuration options. Engines, lights, tires... achieving precise matching between supply and demand."
Digital and Intelligent Factory: The "Super Brain" Enhances Quality and Efficiency
As customer orders are placed, the journey of "smart manufacturing" for buses begins.
Customers' personalized customization needs are quickly input through the digital innovative marketing platform and rapidly transmitted within the company through the digital integrated application platform. Technical engineers efficiently complete order design by matching suitable module data through a modular system design platform based on AI algorithms. Production materials are tracked and purchased in real-time on the digital collaborative supply chain management platform and precisely delivered to production line stations.

Golden Dragon's production bases are relatively dispersed. Nowadays, production scheduling no longer relies on guesswork but is scientifically and reasonably arranged through Golden Dragon's digital intelligent scheduling platform, leveraging AI as the "super brain" to consider factors such as delivery dates, production capacity, and materials. At Golden Dragon's Haicang production base, the production lines are orderly, and customized buses continue to roll off the assembly line. At this point, customers' needs for rapid delivery of personalized orders are efficiently met.
"The Digital and Intelligent Factory for Personalized Bus Orders project has established 85 new processes, optimized 174 processes, and implemented 4,039 optimization items," Hu Daofa, Director of the Enterprise Management Information Department at Golden Dragon, told reporters. By continuously operating and optimizing using new-generation information technologies such as big data, AI, and 5G, the delivery cycle for personalized customer orders has been shortened to less than 35 days, and the production cycle has been reduced to 14 days, enabling more diversified customer needs to be met in a shorter time.
The digital transformation has not only compressed the production cycle but also achieved flexible bus production. In the past, a production line could generally only produce products of one specification. "Nowadays, on the same production line at Golden Dragon, it is common to see that the product and order customer at the previous production station are completely different from those at the next station, making production more flexible and efficient," said Hu Daofa.

In fact, as a leading brand in the bus industry, Golden Dragon began researching and exploring informatization as early as 1995, going through stages of single-point application, large-scale application, in-depth application, and integrated application. The average design cycle has been shortened by 20%, order on-time delivery rate has increased by 9%, and production volume has increased by 20% compared to the previous year, laying the foundation for the company's high-quality development," said Hu Daofa.

Sales data from the overseas market over the past three years provide evidence of the effectiveness of digital transformation. Golden Dragon's export sales exceeded 5,300 units in 2022, achieving rapid growth. In 2023, export sales climbed to 6,900 units, a year-on-year increase of 31%, maintaining a leading position in the industry. In 2024, Golden Dragon's export sales exceeded 8,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 24%, broadening its path to "going global" and continuously writing new chapters in the overseas market.
