Qingdao's public transportation sector has been continuously exploring new pathways towards achieving the "dual carbon" goals for many years. BYD, with its comprehensive product matrix, precisely meets the diversified needs of Qingdao's urban public transportation. The deployment of these 200 new buses marks another resonance in vision between the two parties in the electrification and intelligent transformation of public transportation.
Among the newly deployed buses, the 6-meter pure electric bus B7 stands out as a highlight, setting a new record for the "shortest" bus model in Qingdao's public transportation fleet with its agile appearance. The B7 adopts a "zero rear overhang" design, characterized by its compactness, agility, and swift travel, making it perfectly suited for navigating congested urban roads and narrow rural paths.
This model features a low-floor area of up to 10.6 square meters, with a maximum passenger capacity of 80, achieving efficient operation with a "small size, large capacity". The vehicle also fully considers the travel needs of people with disabilities and the elderly, adopting a low-floor or low-entry one-step structure and equipping it with a flip-up ramp for people with disabilities, facilitating easier boarding and alighting.
Furthermore, the bus is equipped with 3 to 4 heated handrails utilizing carbon fiber heating technology, with a heating temperature of approximately 40°C, and equipped with heating indicator lights, providing passengers with warmth during cold winters. The interior layout of the carriage is reasonable, with seats made of environmentally friendly materials, and special seats and USB charging ports are available. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a 360-degree panoramic view system, further enhancing driving safety.
To date, BYD has delivered approximately 4,000 new energy commercial vehicles in Shandong Province.
